Business Hours

We have a very small, friendly one-computer, one phone (two at holiday time!) office at the Jelly Kitchen in Deer Isle, Maine. There is someone---often the owner---here to answer your call nearly everyday from 9-5 PM year-round. When there isn't, an answering machine will take your message and you can expect a response within 24 hours. We ship most orders the same day we get them, or per your instructions.  Christmas gifts are scheduled to arrive after Dec 1.

Shipping

All orders to the contiguous 48 states are shipped UPS Ground, which requires a street address (no PO boxes, please). Call or e-mail for shipping rates outside the continental US.

Shipping must be calculated separately for each shipping address.

International Shipping

In view of the burdensome paperwork and unpredictable fees associated with international customs and inspections, not to mention the very real possibility that your jam may be "inspected" (i.e. opened) by agricultural authorities, we are now saying no to shipping jam out of the US. It just isn't worth it...

Reuse / Recycle

We reuse serviceable cartons for shipping and to pad breakable jars. We pack shipping cartons with Bio Cushion-Pak. These bio-degradable peanuts are often combined with non-degradable styrofoam peanuts that we reuse for friends and neighbors who bring them to us instead of taking them to our already-stressed Island transfer station. We have not yet found a feasible way to reuse the glass jars, but encourage you to recycle or reuse them at home.
